"Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim: Between Sunrise and Sunset / Works 1986-2022" is the first comprehensive publication on the Emirati artist. Co-edited by Maya Allison and Cristiana de Marchi, the book covers Ibrahim's artistic journey, from his biomorphic abstraction paintings in the 1980s to his Land Art experiments and immersive installations in the 1990s, and the evolution of his papier-mâché sculptures in the last two decades. The publication, released by Kaph Books, contextualizes Ibrahim within the contemporary art scene of the UAE, highlighting his significant contribution to its development over the past four decades. Through essays and interviews by key figures in the art world and Ibrahim's own art community, the monograph delves into the artist's early formation, personality, and work process. The book explores Ibrahim's artistic development against the historical backdrop of the UAE, which came into existence a decade after his birth in 1971. Grounded in in-depth research and personal interactions with the artist, the publication traces Ibrahim's ascent as one of the leading experimental artists in the UAE, placing his work in both its local and global context.
