History Of Arab Graphic Design

Professors Bahia Shehab and Haytham Nawar have co-authored "A History of Arab Graphic Design," a groundbreaking book showcasing the work of over 80 Arab designers. Addressing the absence of Arab perspectives in existing graphic design histories, the book serves as a reference for the DSGN 315/3115 course—History of Graphic Design in the Arab world. With a mission to decolonize the region's design history, the book is an essential step towards recognizing and integrating Arab contributions into the international canon. The authors, both educators at AUC, express the significance of this resource in providing a different narrative and shaping the future of graphic design education in the Arab world.
